WordPress Stats Plugin Release

Yesterday Stats v1.0 plugin was released that allows bloggers to use wordpress.com system stats no matter where you host your blog. I just installed it today and yes I know that there are hundreds of free traffic statistics sites out there to use for free so why use this one.

If you have not noticed you will when your traffic starts to increase because those free traffic stats programs you are using will slow your site down and that is including Google Analytics.

The new WordPress Stats v1.0 plugin is the result of quite of work by Guru Andy. Installing the plugin is simple just download and place it into your plugins folder, then activate it.  You must have an API code  if you have the Akismet plugin you can find the code there if you have it installed and if not you will  have to sign up for a WordPress account for it.

What’s your thoughts on this plugin? — Good? Bad? Gray Area?

I haven’t tried this one - I am still perfectly happy with Google Analytics and can’t say that it is slowing my site down to any noticeable extent.

The slow down bit about Analytics was what I found was said from WordPress. I also use it and have not found this either, it’s a great program so far. Will inform later “once I achieve 100,000 vistors a day.
