Wordpress Plugins Equal Traffic
I remember back when I first start this blog back in February and was completely new to the Wordpress world! Little did I know Wordpress was just an empty shell just dying for a plugin or two. Do you think Wordpress did this purposely since they knew programmers would do them a favor in return for traffic to their new plugins?
I’ve actually had thoughts of designing a plugin in return for traffic!
To get started I made the famous list that millions of other bloggers have posted ‘The Best Wordpress Plugins’ that I use for this site. There are so many plugins being made everyday you could almost start a site just talking about new plugins. Here are 5 more to take a look at but I personally only use the duplicate content cure for this site.
- Duplicate Content Cure (stop search engines from indexing duplicate content)
- Bankroll (sell your own reviews)
- Postviews (show the number views per post)
- Tiger Admin (change the look of your wordpress dashboard)
- Feed Footer (add messages under your posts in your RSS feeds)
My Favorite Plugin
Have you ever received an email after commenting that welcomes you to the site? At first you may have thought that was really nice for the blogger to email you personally welcoming you, right. Well sorry to burst your bubble but that is a plugin also called comment relish and I highly recommend it!

Too bad none of my plugins haven’t brought me in any significant traffic. I saw the postviews plugin on a friend of mines blog. I may try it out when I get more traffic.
As for comment relish, I may try that out, just I hope commentators don’t get annoyed by it.
The email is only sent out once to new commentators after their first comment.
You know what, reading again n again about wordpress blogs and their plug-ins is actually brining an urge in me to move from blogger to wordpress. But doing that now, I would not be anyone different than a naive like you while you jumped in it.
And I really might not like an idea to get into spending time in setting up something new in today’s busy schedule; [A philosophical comment may be slapped on my face here that "You will never get time from your busy schedule, forget about today"] but still it’s difficult – honestly.
So what I would prefer is to look for similar plug-ins or scripts for blogger. I liked the idea to show the views for each post, and show top posts that way on right side bar. It would be cool if someone already using it and share it with me [Am I bluntly asking for search for me - No! - If anyone of you are using it, then only share with me].
I use both Wordpress and Blogger. Yes Wordpress has the down fall of installing plugins but you have far more control over your blog with the features it has.
I think (opinion) since blogger is owned by Google more than likely they index posts from thier own better than others.
Blogger is really lacking in the department of functionality as compared to other blogging dashboards.
Well, in terms of functionality it may be absolutely true but then Google search engine ranking matters – probably for that we work so hard on SEO of our blogs or websites.
I have seen blogger blogs getting PR2 or PR3 very quickly.
This blog went from PR0 to PR5 within 3 months.
Whatttt!! And it was on wordpress since beginning?? Amazing! Lots of linkbacks in first 3 month played major role?
Do you remember any stats about how many backlinks you had in first three months?
My domain might go to PR4 in next update from PR0 because of some link exchanges in last month. But then I wanted PR5 and did not want to settle on PR4. Yours was pretty neat then.
I don’t know how many days we have in hand to work on SEO of any website before the next google update? Have any idea about next update? 21st July??
Nice plugin it is!
Have you seen any improvement in your search engine rankings/traffic since installing the duplicate content cure plugin?
- Martin Reed
Not yet just installed it on the 13th of July. Will update later
Are you using the comment relish plugin?
did you notice any slow down on your blog?
On blogs with a lot of comments ( like johnchow.com ) it can slow it down so much it becomes unaccessible.
I created a fix for this problem and you can get it here: http://patchlog.com/wordpress/more-optimization-for-comment-relish-plugin/
I wasn’t noticing any slow down with the Comment Relish plugin, although I have to admit that my site is a little less busy than John Chow’s!

Comment Relish is my favorite too….
