Sony’s Vaio Zoom and L-Type

Are you prepared Sony’s latest PC range and concept ideas? When I first laid eyes on these machines a feeling of being outdated had overcome my mind. My recent purchase of the Dell XPS 1210 notebook seemed worthless and inadequate to the new Vaio Zoom concept, designed by Eno Setiawan.

A notebook with the idea of being entirely holographic when the screen is off it appears as clear glass. The keyboard is  extensive with a beautiful black shine and when you turn it on the keyboard, screen, mouse buttons are displayed as holograms.

Fortunately for my ego and my somewhat new Dell XPS the Vaio Zoom is a mere none working concept with no info on important tidbits and technical stats. Just a glimpse at the future of notebooks to come and I’m loving it!

Yes this PC is available and from Sony’s new range of Vaio PC’s the L-Type. A desktop that has pure sexiness written all over it and it even comes with a Blu-Ray option. The top of the line is the LT with a 22 inch screen that is wall mountable and you can watch digital/analog TV on it. The LM is 19 inches and does digital TV, while the LJ is a 15.4-inch desktop model with a neat flip keyboard. They’re out in Japan on October 6 not sure about dates for other locations.

LT Series 22-inch LCD screen, Subwoofer with improved low register, 1.3-Megapixel webcam, Digital and analog broadcast tuners, Vaio Video Explorer, Blu-ray (VGC-LT80DB model only), 1680 × 1050 resolution, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 5-button mouse, From ($3218)LM Series, 19-inch LCD screen, 1440 x 900 resolution, Intel core 2 Duo processor, 500GB HDD superior digital broadcast tuner (VGC-LM70DB model only), Windows Vista, and under ($2261).

Sorry to say Dell but it looks like I may be a Sony man in the near future if your designs are not stepped up a notch or two!

The same thing happens to me. The speed with which models get outdated is astounding. The temptation to change over is difficult to handle and the only thing that stops me from splurging is the low exchange price for my old viao and the prospect of getting back on debt.

that’s very cool. puts my fairly new Vaio SZ430N to shame :)

Design wise this is the best looking stuff. Where are the reviews?

The zoom is just a concept not for sell and the L-type I did not find any reviews during my search on it.
