RSS Feeds by Email with FeedBurner

Login into Feedburner click the publicize tab at the top on your tool bar. Then on the right hand tool bar click email subscriptions in this menu under the subscription management header just copy the code for the form.

Login into your Wordpress dashboard click presentation then theme editor and on the right hand side your files will be listed click the one labeled sidebar.php.  Now copy the code into this file in the location you would like it to appear in your side bar.

<li class=”sidebox”>
<h2><?php _e(’Full Feed Rss’); ?></h2>

</li>

If you want to add the additional Feedburner subscription button on the email form. Now click Chicklet chooser and select the new standard small subscribe in a reader icon scroll to the bottom and copy the html code.

Go back to your Wordpress dashboard and copy the code into the sidebar.php file under the email subscription code but be sure to place this code above the tag </form> so that it will appear with the email subscribe form.  That’s it! If you are using widgets for Wordpress I do not have any advice sorry since I am not using them I can not advice on the subject.

    This sounds like a good way of making subscribers out of those that don’t use Feed readers. Be sure to keep us updated on how successful it is for you.

    I’ve been surprised how many people prefer email over an RSS reader today. It’s great that feedburner offers this service because there is obviously a big market for it.

    No problem Wallace thanks what my site is here for helping others out.

    Yes the service is really nice after installation of it I signed up for it on my site and it works well after posting this article I received an email with this post in full feed format.

    I tried to add it but i couldn’t add a background color. It looks terrible with a black background like I have. But it does work on my other blog, and it does get subscriptions. Personnally i prefer the RSS feed.

    I think offering both is a good idea that way you cater to giving choices.
