Paypal Button In a Wordpress Post
How do you place a Paypal button in a Wordpress post or Blogger post for that matter? After receiving an email from a reader stating that they do not have Paypal I realized that I was only catering to people with Paypal for my blog links promotion. Since I knew that Paypal allows credit card payments through their website buy it now button I knew this was the step I needed to take in order to resolve this issue.
Really easy fix I thought and then I tried placing the Paypal buy it now button inside the post and everything looks alright, but when I clicked on the button only an error message displayed. You can effortlessly put the buy it now button code in the sidebar just fine, but then that has know relation to your post.
The Fix:
<a href=”https:/paypal URL code”><img src=”https://paypal img code” /></a>
Login to Paypal click on; merchant services, buy buttons, enter data for item, choose your button, select no to encrypt.
Now you should see two sets of code: the HTML code for websites and Link for emails code. To make the button work in Wordpress or Blogger post what you need is the image code from the first box and the URL code from the second. Take both code parts and now combined them like the example above. It’s that easy!

Hey, if I want to place a button for wordpress, I log into merchant services, what is the information I need to enter?
Thanks Lori
click buy now button, then you enter your product title, then enter a catalog name or number that you make up (optional), then the price.
Great Tip!. I used it!
one thing I was curious about is if you can still use option fields with this fix. i.e. — add $1 postage for Canada and Mexico, add $2 for Europe
Yes just enter the data you want but I’m unsure on the options field since I have never looked into it.

Thanks for this, I am having a problem finding the email link under “create payment buttons” in Paypal. I know I used them a few months ago, but I’ve tried to find them again several times recently and can not find that option.
Just wondering if you or anyone has any insight.
Thank you!
Great tip! Been looking for help on this for ages. One thing though, i’ve chosen and option drop down list for paypal so now there’s no box for emails. Now where do i get my URL from?
Very very helpful, thank you! I was very frustrated until I came across this blog
I’d like to add that for those copying and pasting the original code shown here, make sure to change to generic quotes ( ” ) otherwise you may get an error on the actual click and paypal redirect.
cheers
