Netgear SPH200D Cordless Phone with Skype
Anytime I buy something that I am excited about or really believe in I will be posting an article about it. Anyway last week we disconnected our home phone because we were sick of paying the Belagcom Phone Company that like to take all of your money so now we just pay them for the internet access, which is still high - 43 euros! ($58).
Remember the XPS 1210 that I purchased around a month ago well I love it and it came with some free minutes on Skype so I signed up of course and that is what lead me to canceling my home phone line. What’s great about Skype is you can call other people with Skype for free anywhere in the world and if you want to call a landline or mobile just add credit to your account in 10 (currency) increments.
My currency here is Euros so it cost me 10 euros and 0.017 per minute to call the States and England our two calling destinations we call all the time. So far for this month we still have around 4 euros left for credit and compared to our landline we canceled we have saved around 92 euros this month.
Call your friends through the Internet, for FREE! Make and receive traditional phone calls as well—this phone plugs into your “land line” phone jack. Call ordinary phones worldwide for pennies per minute—with no monthly fees.

Simply plug the Dual-mode Cordless Phone Station into your Internet router (Ethernet port) to enjoy making Skype calls. In addition, you can plug the base station into your phone line (PSTN) wall jack to make land line calls—from the same
cordless phone. Up to 3 additional phones can be added—so you can replace your current cordless phones throughout your home with NETGEAR’s Dual-mode Cordless Phone with Skype.
Manage your contact list and see who’s available to talk to. Use premium services like SkypeIn, SkypeOut, Skype Voicemail (additional fees apply). Supports up to 4 handsets per household (additional handsets sold separately). DECT Cordless–ideal for long range and clear voice quality and Multiple Languages Supported. Nice interactive video here and you could purchase it also if you like from Skype.
Yes, it had to be done as much as I love my laptop you just can not get away from the fact that you need some sort of cordless phone glued to your ear, well my wife does anyway. No way was I going to start using the devil money hoard Belgacom for landline service so I started researching cordless VOIP (voice over internet protocol) phones. This is the one I purchased and recommend it fully after my research and the many reviews SPH200D Amazon Reviews that I read confirm that it is the best for me and you. My SPH200D purchase with my Dell preferred account and it cost me $160.95 with free shipping and included a $20 mail in rebate.
If you are still paying those high landline prices then stop it because it’s a waste of money and it is stupid if you have Broadband, ADSL, or Cable. I was stupid for to long and have paid 1000s for phone calls but not anymore. So say F off to those phone companies and follow my lead if you have not already. Oh I will post one more pic when it’s delivered.

Curious if you think Skype will last. They sure have been involved in lots of law suits, and they are losing money like crazy.
Yes I am aware of the law suits but I think the worst that could happen is they may merge with another VOIP company or possibly be bought out and the name changed. The technology is here to stay I will be using it regardless of what the companies name is or how many law suits they have to pay in order to keep it going.
On another note I do apologies for my typos it seems that know matter how many times I proof I always find more errors the next day. I know that know one has pointed it out but it is still embarrassing to me to see them the next when I taking a quick look over the site. So sorry in advance before someone jumps on me, besides I did point out in my about section already I am the number one user of Microsoft’s grammar and spelling check and maybe that is why no comments on it yet.
Actually, I meant to refer to Vonage and not Skype. Just wanted to point that out from my previous post, so people did not think I was an idiot.
Skype is owned by eBay anyway…last time I checked.
I think any VOIP is better than paying phone companies for landline service.
And free VoIP in your mobile phone is much better than just VoIP. There is a lot of options and free VoIP clients for Win Mobile and Symbian smartphones. For last ones on my page the is a list of free clients and some recommendations how to use them.
CombineVoIP with a Grand Central number, and Jajah or Skype and you can nearly call aywhere free or at ver low cost.
