More Page Views Read More
Get more page views enable the read more feature within your articles. Does it really get you more pageviews in the long run Yes or No? If you notice some of the top people use it some do not. In Wordpress it is simple to enable; just login into your Wordpress account, go to Administration > Write > Post sub panel. Click the “Split post with more tags” like below.

Just click the split screen and then move the more bar to a place you want readers to have to click to continue the article. Now click to see it in action and to see what else I have to say!
I have personally used the read more function before on our other blog in the past but have not enabled it on this blog. My reason for not enabling it comes in the form of a question – do people like it? If they do then why doesn’t every blogger use it? If not then will you lose your daily readers because of it?

This is a good tag. Many bloggers Use it. I think it make your content and blog Look Tidy.
Even I have leart to use it from this post.:)
Thanks
I think many readers may find it annoying. I guess it depends on the blog. If it is a blog I regularly read (and want to read) I don’t pay much attention.
If it is a blog that I am visiting for the first time, I get annoyed.
I always use “more” tag on my blogs. It actually makes homepage look cleaner (at least for me). And if a blog has a lot of longish posts, I really don’t like to scroll down for 5 minutes just to find what I want.
The problem with “more” tag in the latest version of Wordpress is that it carries through to your RSS feed. So now instead providing full, you are providing only partial feed. And that is really bad thing (for me and many other readers). I actually unsubscribe from most partial feeds.
The way to solve this is to install “Full text feed” WP plugin:

Great input so far maybe a mix of with and with out of (continue reading).
Personally, I really hate having to click to read an article. Remember that web users are lazy - making them work (even if it is only through an extra click) to read an article will only encourage them to go elsewhere.
Yup, I am firmly in the John Chow camp on this one - display the full article on your index page.

I was thinking that and one of the reasons I have not been using it.
