Make Money Blogging Last

Do you have what it takes to find an audience amongst a choice of millions of blogs. The road of a blogger that finds success is very long and takes more than just hard work. Your motive for blogging must never be money! 

A recent review of my site stating that my personal posts takes away from my specialized focus of making money online made me realize that I have been giving the wrong impression by using the title make money online and since then I’ve taken it off. 

To make money blogging is great concept but in reality you have a better chance selling hotdogs in Chicago. My goal of making money from blogging has always been last because if it were first then I would have quit from day one.

Blog defined: A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries.

The key word from the wikipedia definition is personal diary and I personally think that people do seem to forget this. Ja Kel Daily is my personal blog for which I use to write about what I want and has always been this way and the result is that I make money blogging in the end. 

The reason that 99% of people fail that attempt their fate at blogging is that their main reason is money. I can assure that with a full time income of well over $80,000 my motive for blogging has never been money and it has always been last on the list. Blogging is a hobby to me that may one day lead into more. Why did I monetize the site? Easy start as you mean to go on that way people do not complain later on about advertisements on your site.

When deciding on a topic for your blog you must find an area or areas that you are passionate about.  My site you will notice that I have categories that include; cars, family, make money online, talk and more.  These are all areas that I post on because I am passionate about them and want to share with readers. 

If I were to start another make money blog then that is what it would be and there are millions of them.  I have started a blog and according to the definition; a personal diary for which you share with a willing audience.

Your personal blog there is only one online not millions. Remember this and forget about making money from blogging save it for last and eventually you will make it into the 1% category of blogging.

    I think this is an honest realization.

    It also shows that you are no slouch. Most people making the kind of living you do would not bother pursuing blogging as an aversion.

    Let’s face it, blogging is not championed as a way to earn a living.

    IMO blogging will morph into an online business niche with new monetization and marketing models, at which time those with the tools of experience will excel and be the leaders.

    Ebooks anyone?

    Yes I am a very busy person and blogging just means less time on TV so I blog instead of using all my free time on programs.

    I have actually given thought on writing an EBook but maybe in another 6 months or so when I have had time to learn more that will be beneficial to others.

    Blogging has started to interfere with my personal life. My wife gets angry that I don’t spend nearly enough time with her. I say she’s crazy! But she’s more important to me than blogging. Money’s on a list of maybe 5 of the top things important to me when it comes to blogging. I hope I can monetize, but it’s a just a side goal.

    I can see what you are talking about. When having a family you have to manage your time for blogging and the wife’s quality time. If you are on the computer none stop your wife will get angry.

    What I do that works for my blogging and family (wife and two kids) is from 8-9:30pm during the week I use this time to blog and catch up on any other blog related things.

    There will be times that you will have to sway from your time schedule to achieve things on your blog and if this is something that your family is not able to deal with then you should delete your blog.

    Your family should always be first and since your wife has stated an issue with this means you are not paying the bills with your blog so therefore should not be taking your hobby over into quality time hours.

    Good shout Jason, Content Is King in my opinion, if you create an interesting and interactive blog or website then the money will follow, most people fail because they try to do it the other way around.
