How Much Money Do You Make Blogging

For well over a year of blogging I’ve seen blogger after blogger posting their income stats from the beginner to the professional.  It’s seems that readers really enjoy these types of posts because they like to measure their personal success based off other bloggers income.

Blogging a hobby to me with the motive of money behind it, yes money! I’m not afraid to admit it I blog instead of doing other things like watching to much TV but if I am completely honest I would not blog for long term if it wasn’t for the monthly long term pay off.

For the bloggers that say other wise that’s fine but I’m not naïve I know that blogging stats would be a lot lower by the millions and more if the motive of money was not behind it.

Jakeldaily.com Earnings 2007:

Note: I also work full time and earn over $6000 per month, so sorry I do not dream about becoming a professional blogger for a living. I do however have a more realistic dream about all the extra income my part time blogging hobby brings in on top of my monthly salary!

Actual Revenue Totals:

  • TLA – $1046
  • Adsense – $618.63
  • Private Ads – $3897.97
  • Blog Network – $1360
  • Affiliates – $14.45
  • ReviewMe - $426
  • BlogAds - $325
  • ContentLink – $17.25

Site earnings from 1 February 07 – 10 August 07 have never been at a constant monthly increase, each month has been random from low to high with a total site earnings of $7705.30 and a average monthly earnings of $1242.79 ( / 6.2 Months).

As you can see from the pie chart above 64% of earnings is through private ads and the 40 blog network. The majority of the private ads income is due to my wife promoting the 7 link adpod on the celebrity/fashion blog of jakeldaily.com by emailing average size companies daily.

Ok, now you have something to measure yourself and Jakeldaily.com by and I will continue on with a monthly earnings posts - enjoy.

I am impressed with your honest revealing of blog earnings… Very few people do it.

Wish you all the best and would like to see the graph increasing.

My revenue had touched to $4K for couple of months [not from single blog though], but I could not sustain it due to personal liabilities.

I had no idea this blog was such a good little earner for you - well done! Can you also offer us some traffic stats so we can get more of an idea of the effectiveness of your monetisation techniques?

    50,000+ page views monthly.

Note: the income is from the gossip blog and my personal blog because they are on the same domain.

Shouldn’t it be “private sales” instead of “private sells”?

If you make that much from blogging, it’s as much as your day job. Why wouldn’t you just quit your day job? Especially living in Romania. Romania’s dirt cheap. You can live a good life there on a grand a month.

Your comment shows that you did not read the post. “Site earnings from 1 February 07 – 10 August 07″ Six months of income - $7705.30

My salary from work is $6000 + per month and I do not live in Romania I am only here for a work project and then will return home.

  18. henri on September 16th, 2007

Do your TLA revenue include the TLA affiliation or is it only the ad link? Thanks for your answer.

  19. Jason Neuman on September 17th, 2007

Links sells only but with in posts and normal link sells since I’m using two separate hosting for this site. I have not actually made any money from affiliate sells yet.

  20. henri on September 17th, 2007

You should ;) For me TLA affiliation is better than links sell!

  21. Jason Neuman on September 17th, 2007

It’s not from a lack of trying I would love to make $25 a sign up I just have not been succesful doing it yet. Any suggestions? :-)

  22. henri on September 17th, 2007

I understand, on my main blog, I wrote sometimes about TLA in order to present the positive points of the affiliate program (mainly the $25) like in this post : http://www.2803.com/blog/combien-rapporte-laffiliation-tla/ (sorry it’s in french). After that I always made some new affiliate members and some bucks for me too.

Thanks for the post! I just found your site looking for information about how well text links ads are doing for bloggers. I’m glad I did. Just glancing through your archives, I know I will be back when I have more time.

(a little late for commenting, but I just wanted to say thanks for the info!)
