How Different Are You
In my personal opinion this is a question that you must ask yourself when running a blog site. According to technorati there are 70 million blogs out there already and a study in 2006 showed that 100,000 were being created each day I’m unsure how many are being created as to date.
For the key term celebrity gossip a Google search returns 6.9 million results now not all of these are blogs of course but this is the competition that our entertainment portion is up against. The Geektalk section of Ja Kel Daily is for the most part whatever I feel like posting about since it’s my personal blog but predominately I talk about tech related things and if you Google anything related the results are an astounding 300 million or more if it’s a generic term. Anyway you get the point, I hope.
So how different are you? This is a question I started asking myself while reading blogging hero’s in Greece. Since the start of our up hill blog trip we have manage to reach an average of 100,000 hits per month with a growing income as well and we have accomplished this with no advertisement costs.
What exactly can a blog site do to show that they are different than the millions of others out there on the net? Video blogging is the answer that I came up with and something that I had been giving some heavy thought for quite some time now. Why, because there is only one you that can be offered to the world and if you public likes you the traffic will follow.
Ja Kel Daily TV- Jason. Coming soon to geektalk and also Kelly will be doing the same for our entertainment section so I suggest you check them out. In case you wondering the Amy Winehouse video is just there for representation purposes of the vblog section.

Blogging is a very personal thing…..it’s a great forum to put your spin on things and I would’nt worry too much about what others think.
I just enjoy finding blogs that ARE different……
Ha, pretty darn good question. And, well, the answer might look like the right one, I am sure that there are millions of video blogs soon as well. What do you do then? I guesss being extraordinary would make you stand out. Like the big shots in internet marketing do.
But of those blogs how many do you actually think get posted to more than once a month? I would be hardly any. After people start their blog they tend to not keep with it because it can take a lot of time to keep posting content.
Not the biggest fan of video blogging. I like to skim, I like to read quick… Things that can’t really be done on Video.
I don’t like video blogging, but I prefer conservative blogs. I think blogs are personal, but there can be for other purposes as well. If there is sense, original idea, why not? If I feel that someone is trying to do his or her best, why would not I give them a chance?
Hmmm. Video blogging is good but it can be annoying if you are in a place where you can’t use headphones or play sound (i.e. at work). Also sometimes the videos are poor quality and/or just annoying.
I do see the benefits of Vloging but I just think that for it to be a hit you need to include content too. Since content is what the spiders feed on. I think the video can only be a portion. Like small clips of all the VACATIONS you two take lol followed by a write up. But you are clever so I am sure that you know this man. Also Amy Winehouse is trash!!!!
There’s plenty of room to reach new audiences in new ways. Keeping your consitency in balance with introducing innovative and dynamic ideas can be tough though.
I don’t like video blogging either. I would rather just read a quick article.
I think that a combination of things happen. There will always be an audience for something new if it’s creative enough. But also there is something to be said for loyal visitors who feel comfortable. I’m not one who always has to be on the cutting edge and usually only moves on to the “next big thing” after being forced to do so. I think that for now, there are enough netizens to keep every kind of blogger busy.
“What exactly can a blog site do to show that they are different than the millions of others out there on the net?”
I’d say do the following:
-Get a dedicated server so you don’t go down when you get on Digg or anywhere else
-Get a custom theme done
-Start a newsletter
-Don’t include all widgets you see even MBL (it doesn’t really bring significant traffic anyway)
-Get a custom logo done
-Actively market your blog
If one actually does all of the above, you’re already different than 99.99% of the blogs…
I’m not really that much into vlogging. Too time consuming.
Video blogging is good but it can be annoying
Interesting you bring up the idea of vlogging. I think I’m going to do it on my scrapbook blog. I believe it’s the way of the future in this game.
Video blogging is a nice idea and to my opinion many people will be interested on that because its concerned with videos. Thanks for the article
I have just joined the millions of bloggers with a personal blog and do not know how many readers it will attract. While it will give me great pleasure to get people to read my blog and comment on it, I blog for the reason that I believe that I have got something to say and I need to see it in writing somewhere where perhaps someone else will also see it.
I hope to learn as I go along and perhaps become a successful blogger!
Bloging means lots of things to lots of people. Affiliate Marketers use a blog as a way to make money and content is secondary. Some people just like to express their opinions. Still some of use use a blog as a tool to build trust with customers. Depending on your motivation a blog can be many things and serve many purposes.
hmmm this is a very serious matter everyone should concentrate more on their blogs to make it a bit different or attractive than others. Anyways great post. Keep it up
Sure, video blogging is a surefire way to attract attention in today’s society where almost every other person has an attention span of less than 1 minute. But pity the poor souls who are stuck with their provider’s dial-up internet service because they won’t be able to view the videos, hence the loss of potential customers who form a significant slice of the internet pie.
That sure is alot of blogs. I would like to know if they count MySpace and Facebook and other social websites like that as blogs.
I would prefer to read a quick article than a video blog but i feel blogging is something personal and people would have their own choices , blog is an expression of oneself ,go blogging!!!
Video blogging will soon become like blog. Lots of it and we will need to figure how to stand out better than anyone else. Creativity is important here.
there are so many blog and sometimes it is really very difficult to find a nice blog where you can read interesting articels. blogging is a personal thing i think.
There is a place on the web for evry single person. Thats really the chance – to be different from the millions others. But thats not difficult, as every individual has its onw interest. Certainly there is no guarantee to find others sharing this, but thats a different story.
Hmm. Videoblogging sounds like a very interesting concept. I’m sure you will be able to create a better connection with your visitors with this new direction and I assume this stronger connection will prompt visitors to continue…visiting!
Good luck with the new concept,
Cheers.
Hey, the idea of “Video Blogging” seems to be Cooool….It’s simply awesome, well am eagerly waiting for the results!! Hope you come with something mind blowing, Good Luck!!
That is a great information. I can’t imagine how many blogs are there today. Mine I think still has difference and I am finding ways to make it different from others
I daily ready tons of posts on what new one can do in blogging but this does sound to be interesting
Videoblogging if started with some plans and a set niche can really create wonders considering their arnt many who are video blogging for specific niches..
If you want to be unique, you have to honest, open and a bit quirky. With so many blogs out there, one wonders if there is even an audience left for someone just starting out. The answer is yes, there is. An informal survey of my family and friends reveal that few of them write, but most of them read. I think this ratio can easily be generalized to the population at large.
If you want to a captivate your audience and gain readership, stick to a personal voice. Give your opinion without sugar-coating and trying to please everyone who reads. And last, but not least, don’t allow your ambitions to monetize your work interfere with the quality of your writing!
there are hundreds of or even thousands of blogs online, and hundreds coming on on each day, the point of being unique if providing quality content and a pleasing design, this is what makes you different from the copy-paste crowd.
Now you have to figure out how you are going to get your site on the front page.
yeah video blogs are usually too long for most people to remained focused and interested :/ they are cool once and awhile though.
Since content is what the spiders feed on. I think the video can only be a portion. Like small clips of all the VACATIONS you two take lol followed by a write up. With so many blogs out there, one wonders if there is even an audience left for someone just starting out.
I think that there are two types of blogs. The first is the blog that teaches you how to do something. This could be to teach you how to garden, how to save money, etc. Then there is the blog that people read to be entertained. I wish I was creative enough to do this, but I would fail miserably. Video works for both of these types of blogs.
It’s not very simple to be unique in blogging. Mostly all the ideas that came to your mind and posting it in your blog are more like a duplicate from other peoples blog. And thats a fact.
To you all,
I am in Germany for 1 week will be posting when I get back.
Jason
Vlogging can definately set you apart from the competition and really help brand yourself or your sites.
A mix of both is good, sometimes you cant watch videos or have sound.
Come back soon Jason! I can’t wait for your post.
Blogging is a very good tool for networking – not sure it’s the ultimate. Good article however. thanks!
The first is the blog that teaches you how to do something. This could be to teach you how to garden, how to save money, etc.The answer is yes, there is. An informal survey of my family and friends reveal that few of them write, but most of them read. I think this ratio can easily be generalized to the population at large.
Video blogging is something that can make you stand out for a while at least and from that respect it’s actually very good idea. But I think there is other dimension to being different than just the way you present content to your readers. It’s of course the quality of content itself and probably the stand you take on issues you blog about. No amount of different presentations will make difference on the long run if content not good enough.
Blogging or creating websites can help in promoting a product or service. Video blogging takes that to the next level as your readers (or those that stumble on your site) will get a better understanding of who you are which can only be done to a certain extent using text.
This is something I ask myself every day. I like to think I’m different because I’m a writer by trade, but really, I don’t know how this sets me apart. Snappy writing always seems to win me over so I try and emulate that. Write fast, think later.
Which one would rank fast…blogs from blogspot or blogs from hosted wordpress.
I guess the real question should be, why are you doing this? There are so many people in the world you’l be pretty hard pressed to ever do anything original with your life.
If you’re enjoying yourself and talking about something you’re either skilled in or learning about with a passion then people should come and continue to come back.
video blogging is actually not that bad. I have a few video blogs and they are doing really well than my blogs with contents. Nowadays people like to watch rather than read.
Hundreds of thousands created daily? Wow, that seems a gartanuan size for competition to the top rank of the first pages of Google. My blog is just like everyone else that’s similar to my themes – hopefully, I would be able to differ along the way.
Thanks for the advice. While i have a couple of sites, and some videos, i didn’t know whether making blogs would be worth it. But combining the blog with the videos sounds like the perfect approach to have a unique blog. And this would work for all of my sites. Great idea….now i know the missing link to have successful blogs for my sites.
I focus on the topic and subject, it has to be something which is not readily available on the web and is a seeked topic.
Ofcourse it requires some research as in what topic and again after deciding on the topic research on topic is also required as it may not be what you know much about.
good point, low barriers to entry, impossible to make a living from it, and still people try. inspires me to work harder though to not just be another statistic.
thanks, mike
i agree with “Ramana Rajgopaul” … Blogging is a very high-quality tool for networking ………
Yes, it can definitely be hard to break through the noise on the web and be noticed. But, if you can it can be very profitable.
I guess it depends on what your blog’s focus is. If you’re aiming at specific keywords to be top in search engines, than uniqueness many times has to do with the quality of content. Trying to stand out from 70 million other people is super tough though.
I agree on the video blogging. Once I have enough money to invest in a cam without hurting any of my other plans, I’m going to look into video blogging.
100,000 views a month is just amazing, and envy-inducing
Great work!
Right on, you have to make your blog personal I think in order to stand out. As an artist its maybe easier to focus on just the art stuff and talk about that.In my case chill out and downbeat electronic music.
I am just starting out, so dont know where it will take me.
I’m the same as everybody else. And I’m glad, I tell you, glad!
Phew, such a relief not to have to be a rebel or an individualist.
Wow, 100,000 new blogs a day? Are you serious? Now I wonder how many of those blogs get posted in once and then forgotten about.
Adding a podcast feed does make you stand apart from fellow bloggers. And if you have a YouTube channel with tutorial videos, your blog is certainly pimped up and get noticed by large number of users.
I would do some video blogging, but I’m afraid I have a face made for radio. I have thought about podcasting many times, and may get into that.
I think there should be about a billion blogs out there….considering the rate at which they are being built….everyone seems to be a blogger these days..
Video blogging is a nice idea and to my opinion many people will be interested on that because its concerned with videos. Thanks for the article
What I am going to say will support this post.
Last week I added a video to my existing web page. It teaches people how to install hardwood floors and such for free. I do this because I believe it will bring revisiting visitors to my website. Anyhow, in this video I added its about my son fishing and catching some fish, 2 fish at the same time. Well in one week that video was the most watched video on my statistics page. The number of viewed, was higher than the number of times people actually found my web page through the key word term. That only meant that this video produced more traffic by viewers sending the link to other viewers, “look at this cute video” type of thing. Amazing.
My company is just starting to get into video marketing. It has proven to be very effective.
I’ve been sending links to people all week to come here and take a look at this thread!!
Being different includes right from the start. Think up a great name for your blog that gets peoples attention. So many blogs have so many ordinary names that are so forgettable
Being different is a must, even if it is a personal blogs one could find that many people are saying the same things in their blogs also. The successful blogs are those which evolved from experience and passion.
Wow great facts that makes it interesting for those out there. I don’t think all of them actually use it to their full potential.
Being unique is important, but you also don’t want to be so unique that people won’t like it.
Vblog is really a good suggestion. What we saw was the fast growth of Youtube community that made 2 billionaires overnight. All because many internet surfers wander around the internet with no actual aim but rather seeking something to pass time. Video is of the form of entertainment so people would certainly like it and spread it around if theres viral content. Funny, sexy, hot, innovative,,just anything.
I think its booming becuase people are seeing the earning potential and almost every american dreams of making money while sitting on their ass at home!
Its necessary to be different if you want to stand out. What’s the point in doing what millions of others are doing the same way. I guess one has to find what suites him best and what he can do different from others.
Being different may mean being extremely focused. I am a niche within a niche. I come up well on Google searches at the expense of fewer total visitors. There are only a handful of machine knitting blogs compared to the literally thousands of hand knitting blogs.
I will have to find ways to appeal to a larger knitting audience without abandoning my machine knit readers. Video blogging via tutorials is something I’ll have to think about.
For me video blogging is like a movie review. Can be compared to a showbiz talk show.
I am not the greatest writer but I try and bounce this out by blogging about different things, sometimes very controversial. This is why I have regular readers.
Video marketing is being touted as the future of internet marketing. So I guess it would do you some good to get into the groove earlier than others.
it’s not how different are you that matters. it’s how well do you market your site? most people will never take the time to market their site or don’t know how. If you do market your site your content can be average and you will still shine.
Agreed Vlogging seems to be the way of the future. I like it better in most cases, it’s a much more direct approach and the vlogger can say much more than in a post. It also helps tremendously if you are a good looking girl
video blogging? it’s my first time to hear that, but i am just prefer to just a blog, a blog were i can write my own opinion and interest.
Surviving out of 70 million blogs is quite a tedious work. However if you have that 2ds viz. determination, dedication and devotion then I am sure no one can jkeep u frm winning the race.
Yea, it can be frustrating to see how many other sites have the same terms and content. But the best part is like you said, no one can be you. So as long as you express yourself and don’t just follow the crowd, I think we can all be different people. Congratulations on the hits and income, I’ll be looking forward to your video posts!
Man that is a whole lot of people starting up blogs. I knew it was alot, but didn’t know it was that high.
As a video producer who uses the medium to communicate professionally I’ll put this idea forward: video blogging will die quickly.
Whine if you must about the lack of original PRINT content, or poorly written print content, you haven’t seen anything yet. VIDEO is much more demanding to create!
I think that a casual perusal of YouTube proves my point.
A quick glance on a article will tell me whether i have to proceed further or not. This is not possible on v-blogs. May be it will be very helpful on explaining some intrinsic techniques which will be difficult in other ways than a video. Also creating a stunning video content is another difficult task.
Blogosphere is beautiful by its variety. Each person is a bit different from the rest of the world, has his own thoughts, lives his own life – there are no 2 completely equal stories, no 2 equal blogs:) there is enough room for all… what you need is just positioning yourself right, having some good content and making this content optimized for search engines… the problem with video is that you can never know what is inside unless you’ve looked till the very end… imho, it works only if you are posting some tutorials, how-tos and music/films.
Video blogging will definitely separate you from the crowd. It can help you advertise and brand your blog.
It’s mostly what you, I, and everyone else thinks anyway so just have a blast with it.
I have to focus on that question myself. I am trying to decide what makes my blog different, and what makes it better. I think when I answer that question I’ll get better results
I like every kind of blogs. You can read or watch a THOUSAND of different things all over the world!! Good or bads…everything is worth!!! See yaaa…
Video blogging is good but it is problematic for users whose net speed is really slow.
I’m not a fan of video blogging but I can see how it could set you apart from other bloggers. Most blogs created daily are for personal reasons and probably aren’t updated very often.
Video blogging is different from other types of blogging. Many people don’t prefer it but it is lot more helpful in making money online nowadays.
I think one of the main questions to ask yourself is “What’s my unique selling point?” You must know how to set yourself apart from others.
I’m pretty sure whatever niche you choose, it will gradually be saturated. I think the best option is just to stay original and true (with good content).
If people don’t like what you talk about, there’s pretty nothing much you can do.
100,000 sounds steep. Does that include MySpace and Facebook?
A lot of blogs are spam blogs, often on blog spot or other free blog hosts.
if you are passionate about things in your life, it will show through your writing. but that still wont make you a good blogger. you need good marketing as well.
Heh heh, all those geezers above me looking for a cheap backlink and paying for it with a blathering post have failed already.
[grin].
Just saying hello. I am sure that you are trekking around Europe.
I prefer conservative blogs. I think blogs are personal, but there can be for other purposes as well. If there is sense, original idea, why not? If I feel that someone is trying to do his or her best, why would not I give them a chance?
I think the video idea is great. For me, it is easier to get the info quick and I am also more interested by seeing things visually. Keep up the good work!
You’ve got to be yourself – that’s it, there is so many different thing in any of us we have to just show it, not keep it deep inside.
I don’t think blogs are personal. we are using blogs for technology websites especially and it’s a goodway to be indexed.
would be prudent to comment on the richness of a blog comes from the world of ideas that we personally in the printing, so the desicion of a serious videobloggin in order to give more substance to their already full blog. greetings
Yes, blogs like a disaster of 21-st century. Now everyone wanna have personal blog. From the other hand this is not bad cause you get a lot of interesting information and experience from this.
Just saying hello. I am sure that you are trekking around Europe.
I think i am right
It’s sad that you are not updating your blog..
i just like to blog.i like to read rather than see video blog.because it is more time consuming than reading.ok ,now i am just waiting for your new post.
So many good blogs dont get updated enough, which is a real shame when you find one to suit your interests.
I think most blogs are pretty boring but once in a while there’s a good one.
Well yeah… This is the basis of all marketing. Differentiate yourself. Be something special, find a way to stand out, don’t imitate too much etc…
Which is obviously easier said then done, but when one successfully integrates this strategy into his projects it’s only natural to start seeing a growth in revenue.
Good luck,
Nathan Reed
Good blog and I agree with web design. You should update, your voice is unique.
best wishes
Ali
I am the average. Not so many different from the other people. And I am proud for that.
it gives pleasure to me when i am blogging or read some others blog.it helps me to make guess about the blogger type.post more article.
In my opinion Interesting you bring up the idea of vlogging. I think I’m going to do it on my scrapbook blog. I believe it’s the way of the future in this game.
Blogging is very personal one maybe. everyone shares knowledge and opinion to others. whatever you know, share your opinions in your blogs.
There are a lot of blogs out there but imo only 80% of them have some unique content and only those are made from pure dedication to writing.
It was difficult to compete if that was the statistic of technorati, all we have to do is to create a unique content that will return your visitor from your sites.
WOW! That number is just incredible…..that means……about 4167 blogs are being created every hour. About 68 blogs being created every minute and 1 blog being created every second!!!!
I think a person who starts a blog should be different – should have something to say. If they just want to copy other sites/content, then blogging is not for them. A lot of bloggers are spammers and not real story tellers. That’s why there are so many blog created every day
Woah, 68 blogs created every minute. Thats amazing. I also prefer non-video blogs.
I am interested in seeing what your Ja Kel TV will be. How long or when is the debut date?
My blog is about news and tips with different perceptions and point of view..
it can be anything, but almost of my articles are about health, lifestyle and internet
Sharing the views and ideas through blogging is very good idea. Everyone shares knowledge and opinion to others. whatever you know, share your opinions in your blogs.
lol….i will think about it later…anyway nice post…keep posting.
Not a fan of video blogs, I just prefer reading such good information, tips, and learning something new.
Anyway thanks for sharing this post buddy.
I am a big fan of video blog. Nice post.. Keep it up.
There is no questions that being original is going to help you develop satisfied readers.
So many great blogs dont get updated enough, which is a real shame when you find one to suit your interests.
It’s sad that you are not updating your blog i think you should update it.
Video blogging is a good form of advertising but it is always best to be yourself. Every is unique in their own special way.
100,000? Wow that’s amazing…I do question myself sometimes if others find my content as entertaining as I. It might not be the case. I really need someone or a couple of people to see my site and tell me what they think. Of course, that’s what everyone wants.
For me I think blogging is about personal thinking or personal idea, then with their personal writing the blogger use it to create the blog.
I love to read the blog also video blog as it can show me other people idea for anything. But I found that it’s a little hard for me to running my own blog as it’s require more time to update and writing.
But of those blogs how many do you actually think get posted to more than once a month? I would be hardly any. After people start their blog they tend to not keep with it because it can take a lot of time to keep posting content .
You should keep updating your blog Jake!
I agree with Austin above – producing quality content, video or no video, is a very safe bet on how to attract more visitors. Certainly makes the blog more original, and I think people show more attention to video than text.
The number of 100,000 new blogs a day is mindboggling, although I suspect many must be utter crap. I read somewhere not sure how reliable, that 70% of new blogs are splogs
Feel, Blogging is more of a self expression…With people getting more into this concept, they will surely understand how to manage and popularize their blogs…
I don’t like video blogging either. I would rather just read a quick article.
I’m another vote against video blogging. I don’t have time to watch vlogs.
There is such a think as too different. I’m in such a tight niche that there are very few other bloggers for me to communicate with, cross link and cross promote with. Without a blogging community becomes very hard to promote a blog.
I think the people will “feel” if the one’s blog is different. The readers will feel and know that you care and want to share your experiences and knowledge.
There sure is a humongous amount of sites to choose from, and this is not necessarily a negative item. It means that there can be more specific sites geared at subjects that had previously not been tackled. This is a positive for information-searchers in general.
Video blogging will set you apart at some point only. It takes a lot of bandwidth for dial-up users like me. In addition, most videos on most blogs are all the same.
I think what sets apart a good blog is informational article, how-tos, and how a blogger can spin a nonsensical topic into an interesting tidbit.
I agree with you. Bloggers should always ask themselves this question. There are so many people blogging, to make your blog stands out, you need to be different in a way or another. Hope to see your new posts soon!
I agree I think if you are more personal your blog will be more successful
For me video blogging is like a movie review. Can be compared to a showbiz talk show.
The blogs should have unique information. and the information that other blogs do not have. Especially the information that is not clearly stated. if you find a blog that has good information but its hard to understand. it doesn’t really help. so you mite wanna make that same blog with clear information. keep it unique. and thats the key to a successful blog.
The more personal the better. Just general news and articles isnt enough. You need to make a connection with your readers
i’m not sure whether mine will standout or not. but my friends enjoy it.
Blogging is mainly differentiated through content. You can have the most beautiful looking blog in the world with all the bells and whistles but if the author doesn’t write with heart and opinion, people just won’t read.
great post, i struggled with this creating some of my sites and just trying to make them different
Blogging is really fun, its a great of sharing your thoughts, experiences throught pictures, memories and it really rocks. It can reach out all the people around the world.
Video blogging can be really cool – but web pages are better to skim and quickly find stuff you’re interested in.
Blogging is extremely personal and intimate because you are sharing your life, experiances, and inner feelings with the internet. Internet has means to reach people all over the country, and because of that bloggings is not only personal but public and open as well.
“there are 70 million blogs out there already and a study in 2006 showed that 100,000 were being created each day”
sobering thoughts.
in my opinion everybody involved in this blog thing (or any other internet-based publishing; podcasts etc.) SHOULD ask themselves at some point “how different am i?”. for 999 out of 1000 of them this can be a motivator and reveal that either they are actually different or that they need to think more about individualizing what they do.
however, for the rest of us, the average people out there, the best this sort of mental exercise will be able to do is to perhaps produce the realization that we are not that different from all the other folks out there no matter what we do, and that that is okay.
this is certainly what the ‘net has done for me; made me realize that i am just a human being, and that there are endless like-minded people out there trying to do the same things that i am.
so all in all: i feel less alone. and more lame.
i wanted to do video blogging and blogwalking to video blogs
but my connection is to slow, so i didn’t do it.
Video blogging is clearly a growing area, but my concern is that Googe is not good at discerning the content of a video – you can rank, and get traffic, for written words, but the spoken words in a video don’t get spidered or ranked – hence less relevant traffic
Video blogging one of the new concept of blogging, even video marketing next focus in Internet Marketing its more help to make different than others, gives way to talk directly to market.
Great post, you gave me an inspiration to work on a new blog posting, giving my opinion on the same.
Thanks!
That is a huge amount of blogs each day. 100k, are all these wordpress.
Maybe somebody has unique idea … Can you suggest the blog theme for describing our page?
Video blogging, link baiting these options available to make different than others but other simple avail too, need creative writing graphics, little deep knowledge on different topics, use daily routine interesting topics in your blogs.
“but the spoken words in a video don’t get spidered or ranked – hence less relevant traffic”
Solution: Create a summary of the video in text. I also think it’s user friendly. I stay away from videos that may be 30 seconds or longer than three minutes. Seeing a highlight summary next to a longer video may entice me into looking at it.
Here’s one tip many don’t know about YouTube. You can place a live website link within the description of your video if you’re using YouTube. The link shows up to the right of the video. Not many will actually notice it, but it’s occasional extra traffic.
I’ve also been reading about creating transcripts within the video itself, but not sure if it’s effective. Such an early time for web video and exciting as well!
How different are you? That is a good question. But how about, how important are you for those who find you and read what you have to write?
Nate
Each blog has its personality, thanks to the one who writes !
I like your title “How different are you? ” Nobody knows his value and significance so it would be help him/her to know this question.
All of these are blogs ,of course but this is the competition that our entertainment portion is up against…We are totally different from others…It is interesting to read such a nice post…
your posts are brilliant and worth reading
informative
and
attractive
thanks for doing so much for your readers
Blogging is unique to every single person and shows their unique personal style. The type of blogger you are is just like the type of flooring you prefer. Some like hardwood flooring, while others prefer carpets. Blogging is just as different as your choice of flooring, different attributes for different people.
agree on the video blogging. Once I have enough money to invest in a cam without hurting any of my other plans, I’m going to look into video blogging.
i think blogging video is good idea
I rarely look at videos on Blogs. I would prefer to read an article. Sometimes if the article is good enough though, I will watch the video. Bill Crosby who does Twitter videos is a good example of that. I’m glad I watched his. Sometimes I add them to our site just for a little variety because I know there are a lot of people who enjoy them.
reading about the article is more preferrable than watching a video
Whatever the form of blogging is, for as long as it is informative and comprehensive, it is considered a great job!
Video blogs are awful. I cannot stand them in the least… but then again… I like to read, and can read faster than most speak.
videos makes more attractive to websites… it makes richer the site.
I like your title “How different are you? ” Nobody knows his value and significance so it would be help him/her to know this question.
Blogging forces me to think and reflect in order to write, so that what was just an idea in my mind becomes more concrete… I also find out about new, interesting people because they link to my blog, comment on my blog and so on…
Finding and nurturing that elusive “x-factor” is what is key to online success. You have to have areally good, unique (or a unique angle) story. The your search marketing effoerts to drive traffic to your offering is th next step.
As long as you write well and often then that will separate you from a lot of bloggers.

Indeed, Interesting post. I really enjoy reading. Thanks.
I totally agree. Every man and his dog has a blog these days. You have to have an edge. I think good quality content is the best option.
Great post, thanks a lot man.
Each one blogs very different because we are different.
We all love to talk about something! My personal thing is webdeveloping..
Excellent question, bring me to thinking that I am not so different compared to what I would have thought…… The Differences are in the persons mind , a health living , diet , and exercise and then I would be like everyone else. lol
Mmmmm. you made me to think a lot its a realy interesting question/
There is a place on the web for every single person. That’ s really the chance – to be different from the millions others. But that’s not difficult, as every individual has its own interest. Certainly there is no guarantee to find others sharing this, but that’s a different story.
Thanks have a great idea on this post with a nice article……
