Get My Widget – Widgetbox

Yes, I am sure that you  may already know about Widgetbox but I have just added a widget to my site today so I thought that I would review it.  Widgetbox™ is an open web widget marketplace and syndication plaftorm. It serves both the developers who create widgets and the web publishers who use widgets in their sites.

Widgetbox is a directory and syndication platform for web widgets for blogs and other web pages. The widgets work with TypePad, WordPress, Blogger, MySpace as well as most other blogs, sidebars or websites. No plug-ins are needed just add the code, and they’re free!

San Francisco, CA, January 11, 2007 — Widgetbox™, (www.widgetbox.com) the leading marketplace for web widgets, now enables blog owners to create a widget version of their blog. These blog widgets, or “blidgets,” are supported by the full promotion, distribution and viral adoption capabilities of the powerful Widgetbox Syndication Platform™, extending the blog’s reach far beyond its original domain. By creating a blidget and adding a Widgetbox “Get Widget” button on their blog, bloggers can more easily stimulate syndication to increase the exposure and distribution of their blog.

Blidgets combine the power of RSS syndicated content with the rich interactivity and easy page integration of widgets.  The visitor to a blog will see the blogger’s blidget and an invitation to subscribe to the widget for use on their own web page, blog or profile. Blidgets can be installed on any web service allowing users to post them on their blogs as well as social networks and web pages.

So if you have not already widgetize your blog maybe you should think about it. Widgetbox is an excellent alternative to linkbacks and getting more readers to your site. It is really easy to setup just go and sign up and copy the link code where you would like the link to show on your site.  Also, I know that you want my widget on your site just click here to add Ja Kel Daily Dot Com.

Oh, and in case you are wondering about my widget button link I made it myself (Adobe 7.0) I do not use the standard available buttons because I like my buttons to be formatted in the same size on my page, just looks better I think.

Only one member on my widgetbox account I guess no one really cares for this feature, so it seems.

I was at the widgetbox site today before I read this article. I am still having a hard time trying to figure out the value of a blidget.

Write more on if you can…

I am not sure myself about it but I will keep the link to it for a bit then more than likely get rid of it if know one uses it.

I see you took the blidget down…guess nobody was using it. So, you took it down like you said that you would.

There are some other great widgets available. Even one to show you Technorati rank. I wrote a post on it. It is only a couple of weeks old.

No the link is still there but I will more than likely be taking it down soon, just a waste of space up there so far.

Did you see the widget for Technorati ranking at widgetbox? It’s fairly new…within the last couple of weeks.
