Dell XPS M1210

Due to this video causing the site to load slow I placed a link to it instead: XPS M1210 Video

Recently I order the Dell XPS M1210after my Dell Dimension 4600c crashed on me.  It seemed unlikely that the desktop should do this since it was only a year and half old but I was not too mad, right.  Luckily when I checked my warranty it had expired for the first year of course but then I noticed that I had an additional 2 years that I was not even aware of.  So after contacting Dell and explaining the situation they scheduled a tech to come onsite and repair my desktop free of charge.  When the tech arrived two days later to my surprise, he replaced the board and the broken 160 gig hard drive with a 250 gig drive.  Excellent top grade service performed by Dell Incorporated can not be topped in my opinion.

My new XPS M1210that I am patiently waiting for at the moment with an expected ship date of 16 Feb 07, will be the best pc that I currently own.  Before the question is asked, the answer is no I am not a gamer so this was not my reason for making the purchase of this fine machine.  My last laptop the Gateway model 400s 17inch heavy, large and the DC power supply went out on it and  later on I will write a article and take a few pictures of the repair process I went through to fix it.

Anyway back on topic, I wanted to go the total opposite route from heavy and large and on the next laptop purchase so decision made, small and power which describes the XPS M1210perfectly. The configuration; Intel® CoreTM  2 Duo Processor T7400 (2.16GHz, 4M L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB) 12.1″ Widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) display with TrueLifeTM , Genuine  Windows Vista™ Home Premium, 2GB of Dual Channel DDR2 memory, 120GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive, Weight (lbs): 4.37, Width: 11.70″ ,Height: 1.20″, 4 USB 2.0, integrated 1.3 megapixel web cam. Do not hesitate if you are looking for a notebook with the power of two desktops then I think you should Buy a DELL Now!

Thanks, this link works a lot better. The page wouldn’t even load at all for me with the other link.

In case there are other gamers reading, I’d like to say 2 things about Dells:
    1) don’t buy it if you want to do gaming on your PC. Dells have so much bloatware pre-installed it significantly degrades gaming performance. If you do get one, you will want to completely reinstall Windows from scratch in order to remove the bloatware and adware Dell installs.
    2) unless you have one of the tiny handful of games that requires directX 10 , stick with windows XP for gaming. Its significantly faster than Vista in nearly every gaming benchmark.

btw- I don’t blame Dell for all the software it installs , because being paid to install those softwares is part of how they keep their prices so low. Its a trade-off, thats all.
