Customized Your Google Home Page

Have you ever had trouble finding things to write about or maybe you are just new to blogging.  A good suggestion is setting up a customized google home page with a series of search based RSS feeds with topics that are related to your interest or blog. 

First step go to Google Blog Search and input a keyword that is related to what you are thinking about writing about.   Google blog search will then search through millions of blogs for content that is related to the keyword that you have requested in the search box.  For example if you search “technology” you will see 9,494,565 results for technology related topics.  Take this into consideration when performing your searched be specific for a more refined search that will give a lesser amount of results. 

Second step create a Google account if you do not already have one and then go to Manage Account  Click the “Add Content” link to the right of personalized homepage. 

Third step in the search box at the top of the page you’ll see a link to the right that you use to add your address by URL.

Last step now click the “add by URL” link and then paste in the RSS feed link you copied from your selected search and then click add.  Now click the back to homepage link in the upper left of the page and you will now see the feed that you just added to your Google homepage.  Repeat the above steps until you have filled your Google Customized page with all the necessary related topics you need to keep your mind flowing with information from around the world.

    I did this but started to get overwhelmed by all the news. When you have a hundred news articles on topics you enjoy, coming to you every day, it just sucks your time away!

    Now I just have my favorite feeds coming into my email program instead.

    I have tried to do this….but got tired and gave it up half the way….I would be trying it again after reading this post.
