Crashed After our Holiday

I’ve always heard that car crashes occur within a few minutes from home and I’ve always wondered just how true this statement is. So, here’s my story we returned home from Spain and my son (2 years old) and I crashed just three days following our return on Saturday at 12:45 on our way home from returning the movies and having a boy’s day out and guess what it was only two minutes from our house.

The short and long of the crash an older man failed to look before making a left turn onto a major highway blocking my vehicles path. We hit the front of his car, reaping the front of it off causing us to roll an estimated three-six times, hitting at light pole with the car ending upside down.

Canary Wharf London – Motor Expo

In London 14-21 June and today my wife and I went to the Motor Expo that I talked about 15 May. A very small expo compared to some others that we’ve been to such as the one in Paris France. One of the main reasons we decided to catch the show was the new Audi A5 which to our disappointment was only at the expo for one day on Monday so we missed it.

P.G.O Cevennes a French sports car with attitude. This car caught our eye for two reasons; it’s in our price range 30,000 pounds and it has a classic striking look to it. To be honest I had never even heard of the make before today and now it’s in the considerations books for purchase sometime in the future. Specs: 4 cylinder, Peugeot engine, 134mph top speed, 0-60 6.8 sec and 17″ alloy wheels. The Jag, Audi, and Alfa are just a few of many beautiful cars that were on display at expo. See pics below:

Afterwards my wife and I went to Beach Combers a great sea food restaurant in Greenwich that we occasionally have a bit to eat when we are carving seafood. If you are ever in the area I recommend trying it out.

Motor Expo Canary Wharf London

This weekend while discussing the purchase of the New BMW 335 my wife decided to have a look at the Audi site and see what they have to offer. To my surprise Audi have just released the New Audi A5 a competitor to the BMW 3 series! After looking at loads of pictures and watching promo videos on YouTube my wife is sold on it and I have nearly decided on it also.

At the moment the pricing sheets and car have not been released to the dealership so I started searching for car shows. How lucky I found one the International Motor Expo in London 11 June – 17 June and we arrive on the 14th just in time to catch the show before going to Butlins (Fun Park) on the 15th for 3 days for my son’s first birthday celebration.

Set in a unique environment, the Motorexpo is unlike any other motor show in the world: The first and most unmistakable difference as compared to traditional shows is that it is free for visitors to attend; however visitors will also enjoy its exceptional setting and its unique, relaxed atmosphere.

During Motorexpo week the Canary Wharf estate is literally transformed into a giant showroom for the latest vehicles, enabling Canary Wharf workers to view the latest vehicles right on their doorstep. Since the first Motorexpo ran in 1996, the working population based on the estate has grown from 13,400 to over 90,000, and the show offers manufacturers unique access to this time-pressed audience.

I am seriously one lucky guy just noticed on the website that the car show is free and my wife loves cars just as much as I do!

New Audi A5

The 2008 Audi A5 slotted between the A4 and A6 of course considerably larger than the TT coupe and marketed as a true four-seater. Said to be first true competitor to the BMW 3 series! I’ve been a BMW owner for quite a while and I am sold on this car. Take a look and you will see why I’m sold on it – you get so much more luxury/room and it’s in the same price range.

I’ve spoken to the Audi dealer in Germany and they estimate that it should be available to order in 2 months time – the excitement/anticipation of getting a new car not even released yet! At least I get to see it next month at the Motor Expo in London.

There is nothing more exciting than a debut. Especially with a new car. The first sight of it; the first time you accelerate. The first corner. The first long journey. New 335 BMW Convertible

The new 335 BMW Convertible hard top is something my wife and I have been thinking about for some time now. Our current 325 BMW Convertible is an excellent car and the thing I like about the look of a convertible the most is the color contrast between the top and the body. That is something you lose with the new hard top 335.

On the other hand though considering the new 335 is a 300-hp Six Speed twin turbo charged six cylinder that has the force that throws you back in your seat and doesn’t stop until you redline. I think that I can easily forget about the color contrast now!

To name just a few more optional features to sink you teeth into; Bluetooth wireless technology, iPod Adapter, HD Radio, Active Cruise, Active Steering, Adaptive Brakes and Logic7 Audio System. Bottom Line I’m Sold On It! If you want it base price is $49,000 and then you still have to add your options. Take a look at her here, BMW.

An educated owner’s – quick lesson: BMW (Bavarian Motor Works), Origins 1913, Began with Aircraft Engines, 1923 Motorcycles, 1928 Automobiles. The logo round in style representing a rotating airscrew – the blue representing the sky but some say it also represents the Bavarian flag which is blue and white.
