Banned From Technorati I Think

This unbelievable today when checked my Technorati stats their site said: Sorry :~(  We’re sorry…we don’t have a blog by that name. If this is your blog, ping us so we can put it in our index!

At first I thought to myself that the site may just be down so I checked other sites.  No, just my my site! Ok let’s see if I can log into my account.  Yes I successfully logged in and my blog is still there and claimed and showing my stats of; Rank: 22,157 (1,309 links from 184 sites).

So I contacted them now; stating there seems to be a problem with my site it’s not showing in your directory please inform me as to why.  I am almost positive that the response time is not 24 hours and I’ve heard that I may even have to wait a month for a reply back.

Auto Response:
If you don’t hear back from anyone within a week, please accept our apologies for the delay as we may be experiencing a backlog in Support.  Please feel free to send us a reminder of your ticket.  Please be sure to include the subject and ticket number, “[Support] Blog Tags - My blog is not listed in the Blog Directory successfully, Ticket #000000″, in your note so we may properly track your issue and its progress.  In the meantime, you can also check our Support FAQs located at http://support.technorati.com/faq/forum/1 or our Support Forum located at http://support.technorati.com/ which may answer some of your questions.

Well this is great I’ve been working my a## for the last eight weeks for the top 10,000 and I am almost there except for the fact that I am not even listed any longer!  The hardships of blogging sometimes it’s like walking down a road that is 300 degrees fahrenheit with no shoes on just to make it to your long term destination!  The funny thing is I did not even receive an email stating the fact as to why – puzzling to me.

Update 23 May:

Jason Neuman,

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We’ve been experiencing a backlog in support and are working hard to address everyone. I’ve taken a look to see why you are unable to claim your blog. It seems that your blog was incorrectly classified in our system.

We have reset your blog to the correct classification in our index and our spiders have revisited your blog. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for using
Technorati!

Best Regards,

Fixed in 12 days not too bad and to be honest I am just relieved that it is fixed now.

Try leaving a message on their help forum. You’ll get a response much faster than with an email ticket. Make sure you post your url along with your question or they won’t respond.

PS- I just checked my own account and in place of my blog name it says 403 Forbidden. Maybe they’re having problems from their recent changes over there.

Ok took your advice and posted my problem to the forum:

My site http://jakeldaily.com for some reason is not listed today and Technorati states below:

Sorry :~( We’re sorry…we don’t have a blog by that name. If this is your blog, ping us so we can put it in our index!

Jason, I would highly doubt you’re banned. They’ve been having a few issues it seems. On Wed when I tried to check my stats it was never able to produce my rank or anything. I wouldn’t freak out just yet.

Yeah, you should wait a while, than if problem still happens, try a re-contact.

Yes I know about the problems but it makes a good headline gets people started off with some conversation :))

No problems. I think we are discovering that rank is not everything. I am finding that driving traffic with articles, etc and focusing on keywords for search engines is probably more important.

The problem is that is if your technorati rank is not working or you do not have it some of the new services such as Review Me us it to determine your ranking on their site and it lowers your ranking there.

    Hello all,

It does seem there was something amiss with Blogspot blogs recently. All looks to be in order now. If you initiate a ping to Technorati, we should be able to reindex your blog and pick up your title successfully again. Thanks for using the forum!

Not banned or a few issues? I hope the issues were effecting more than just blogspot since my ratings are still inop today.

Got your e-mail, I’m now ok again with Technorati, after having left a request in (now closed) thread at their forums. Unless they have flagged your blog, maybe leave another post there? Good luck.

Ha! It just scared me… cause my blog just jumped today from 40000 rank to 22000 but I don’t know how it happened in a day. That’s what I wrote in my latest post. Let me find out if there is any significant change in the back links I have.

Jakel, I strongly believe, that you surely would get into top 10000 soon.
