Adobe Photoshop Picture Title Layers

Every since seeing this done on several other blogs I’ve been searching the net for hours for instructions on how to make an image like the one above.
Today I was fortunate enough to work with a guy that happens to be really experienced with Adobe Photoshop and he was able to show me in 5 minutes how to make an image title with the transparency title strip.
Title Layer Steps:
- Adobe Photoshop Software
- Select Marquee From Tools
- Highlight the bottom section
- Click Layer Top Tool Bar
- Select New Layer From Drop Down
- Click Edit Top Tool Bar
- Click Fill From Drop Down
- Choose Color (black) In The Menu
- Click Windows Top Tool Bar
- Select Layers From Drop Down
- Double Click Your Layer
- From The Menu Set Opacity At 60% or So (depends picture color)
- Select Type Tool
- Click On Transparency Area
- Now Type What You Want To Say
- Save The File As .png
- Finished
That’s it now you can add all the article header pictures you like but of course you need Adobe Photoshop. I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 in case you’re wondering and flickr for pictures.

It’s not that hard, you should have been able to figure it out yourself :P. But, then again Photoshop is pretty intimidating if you’re a beginner. Also, if you learn the short-cuts that’ll take about 30 seconds to do
lol. When using Photoshop shortcuts are your best friend ;).
Good luck with your future Photoshop experiments!
Adobe Photoshop is an amazing software. You can really play around with it. Any lifeless picture can be transformed and made into a beautiful picture. I am a graphic designer, and I can say, without photoshop my job would have got handicapped.
I will be always a novice to Photoshop I think - LOL. I start to learn it, and leave it in between. And could never figure out the layers in photoshop.
Probably, your step-by-step will give me some insight… But you never know, I might just become Photoshop guru out of the blue one day.
I was thinking of making an online tool for people who want to make things like this easily. I think it could be quite successful.
Yes Photoshop intimidating if you’re a beginner and even regular user ( I just learned the clone tool also – lots of fun erasing people & things from pictures). I think an online tool would be very successful since not everyone has Photoshop and nor do they plan to purchase it because of price - unless they are getting there hands on a cracked version.
I’ve been wondering how I could do this and bam! You post it here
Thanks! As a newbie to Photoshop, coming across gems like this is great…
