Banned From Technorati I Think
This unbelievable today when checked my Technorati stats their site said: Sorry :~( We’re sorry…we don’t have a blog by that name. If this is your blog, ping us so we can put it in our index!
At first I thought to myself that the site may just be down so I checked other sites. No, just my my site! Ok let’s see if I can log into my account. Yes I successfully logged in and my blog is still there and claimed and showing my stats of; Rank: 22,157 (1,309 links from 184 sites).
So I contacted them now; stating there seems to be a problem with my site it’s not showing in your directory please inform me as to why. I am almost positive that the response time is not 24 hours and I’ve heard that I may even have to wait a month for a reply back.
Auto Response:
If you don’t hear back from anyone within a week, please accept our apologies for the delay as we may be experiencing a backlog in Support. Please feel free to send us a reminder of your ticket. Please be sure to include the subject and ticket number, “[Support] Blog Tags - My blog is not listed in the Blog Directory successfully, Ticket #000000″, in your note so we may properly track your issue and its progress. In the meantime, you can also check our Support FAQs located at http://support.technorati.com/faq/forum/1 or our Support Forum located at http://support.technorati.com/ which may answer some of your questions.
Well this is great I’ve been working my a## for the last eight weeks for the top 10,000 and I am almost there except for the fact that I am not even listed any longer! The hardships of blogging sometimes it’s like walking down a road that is 300 degrees fahrenheit with no shoes on just to make it to your long term destination! The funny thing is I did not even receive an email stating the fact as to why – puzzling to me.
Update 23 May:
Jason Neuman,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We’ve been experiencing a backlog in support and are working hard to address everyone. I’ve taken a look to see why you are unable to claim your blog. It seems that your blog was incorrectly classified in our system.

Increase Traffic with Blog Carnivals
If you have a blog, then you probably encountered several times the well-known advice that you have to post regularly, in order to keep your audience. You also know some tricks on how to manage this when you also have a job, school, children, or other duties that may prevent you from writing.
There is a tool which was not so much mentioned, but it is worth trying: host a blog carnival. Blog carnivals are regular posts which gather articles on a given topic, submitted by their authors. Here’s how to get a blog carnival up and running:
- 1. Sign up for a free account with BlogCarnival.com
- 2. Browse the list of all existing carnivals and try to find a niche for your future carnival (it is better to be related to your blog’s topic). If you want to get more buzz around your carnival, you could use Technorati or any other tool to see which are the most popular searches.
- 3. Find a good name for your carnival. As there are now more than 1500 carnivals registered, you have some competition here. Try to make it clear from the name what is it about.
- 4. Follow the instructions and set up your carnival (it is very easy and the instructions given on BlogCarnival are precise). Set the limit date of sending the posts one or two days before the publishing date, so you have a time buffer there.
- 5. Promote your carnival: write a post about it, inviting your readers to submit their articles, or tell your friends, or write in forums about it.
- 6. As people submit posts for your blog carnival, you’ll be notified by e-mail. After the submission deadline, you’ll receive an e-mail from BlogCarnival, containing a great tool: InstaCarnival. This is in fact your future post: it contains links to all entries, already HTML formatted, so if you don’t feel like being more creative, you can just copy-paste the content and publish it on your blog.
- 7. After you publish one edition of your blog carnival, go to BlogCarnival.com, mark that edition as published and announce the next one.
If you want to see an example, here’s my blog carnival, 1001 cats, and this is the first edition of 1001 cats published on my blog.
Good luck to all of you, and please let us know when we can submit our entries to your next blog carnival.

5 Ways to Promote Your Blog Free
Myspace: recently launched a news service and sites wanting to be considered for this can submit their site here. Wow! Imagine the traffic you would get if you got lucky and were listed on Myspace. A site that has reached well over 100 million users and still going!
I’ve looked through their FAQ and they do not have any requirements outlined that your blog must meet in order to be accepted. So just click the link and submit keep your fingers crossed and maybe your server will crash from traffic.
Link Love: the question you must ask yourself is do you really care who links to you? Is there such a thing as a bad link? Is link exchange bad? Things to think about; Small Sites Grow, Links Equal Traffic, and it takes link love for Technorati, and Google to find you irresistible.
Recluse: just stop it if you fit into this category. If you are posting content to your blog daily and never linking or talking about other bloggers or websites you are a loner and you need to start interacting with other people. Guess what? Interaction equals traffic! Who knows maybe you are an exceptional recluse jet eye blogger and you do not need the help of others. More insight here because I’m not a Hermit!

Five common headline mistakes and how to avoid them.
WordPress Stats Plugin Release
Yesterday Stats v1.0 plugin was released that allows bloggers to use wordpress.com system stats no matter where you host your blog. I just installed it today and yes I know that there are hundreds of free traffic statistics sites out there to use for free so why use this one.
If you have not noticed you will when your traffic starts to increase because those free traffic stats programs you are using will slow your site down and that is including Google Analytics.
The new WordPress Stats v1.0 plugin is the result of quite of work by Guru Andy. Installing the plugin is simple just download and place it into your plugins folder, then activate it. You must have an API code if you have the Akismet plugin you can find the code there if you have it installed and if not you will have to sign up for a WordPress account for it.
What’s your thoughts on this plugin? — Good? Bad? Gray Area?
New 335 BMW Convertible
The new 335 BMW Convertible hard top is something my wife and I have been thinking about for some time now. Our current 325 BMW Convertible is an excellent car and the thing I like about the look of a convertible the most is the color contrast between the top and the body. That is something you lose with the new hard top 335.
On the other hand though considering the new 335 is a 300-hp Six Speed twin turbo charged six cylinder that has the force that throws you back in your seat and doesn’t stop until you redline. I think that I can easily forget about the color contrast now!
To name just a few more optional features to sink you teeth into; Bluetooth wireless technology, iPod Adapter, HD Radio, Active Cruise, Active Steering, Adaptive Brakes and Logic7 Audio System. Bottom Line I’m Sold On It! If you want it base price is $49,000 and then you still have to add your options. Take a look at her here, BMW.

Then once a month for the next 6 months from February I will post one full review to the holder of the Top Commentators position. Optimal Title Plugin Generate More Traffic
To be honest I do not know how I missed the Optimal Title plugin when installing the other one million plugins but oh well better later than never. What this plugin does is flip your blog title after the separator bringing the post title in front for better optimization therefore
generating more traffic. Example Before; Ja Kel Daily Dot Com >> Blog Post Title. Example After; Blog Post Title >> Ja Kel Daily Dot Com.
Installation:
1. Download Optimal Title v3.0 and unzip the archive.
2. Upload optimal-title.php into your wp-content/plugins/ directory.
3. Activate the plugin on your WP Admin » Plugin Management page by clicking the corresponding “Activate” link under the Action column.
4. Follow the usage guidelines shown below.Instructions:
In your header.php file, replace the function call wp_title() with a call to optimal_title(). You’ll also want to position your blog name after your usage of Optimal Title in order for this to work as intended. You should end up with a line that looks something like this:
<title><?php optimal_title(); ?> <?php bloginfo(’name’); ?></title>
Why should you download and active Optimal Title? Easy explanation when you have the post title displaying first it gives respected search engines a better idea of what your blog is about which will generate more traffic and adding an overall better optimization to your site allowing you to make more money online.
ReviewMe Option The New PayPerPost
The ReviewMe team just emailed yesterday and has informed that advertisers can now create campaigns in which they set the review price, requirements and you can then accept offers that your site qualifies for.
Jason, we are excited to announce our new Advertiser Marketplace at ReviewMe.com! In addition to our marketplace of premium blogs where advertisers can purchase individual reviews, advertisers will now be able to create campaign offers that you will have the option to accept. This new marketplace gives your blog a new way to make more money.
Your blog is approved for this new marketplace and we invite you to login and review all relevant offers that you can blog about now!
Patrick Gavin
President
Maybe you remember PayPerPost and how it was making sites load extremely slow. Since then I have not given them a second look and now that ReviewMe a much more popular service (my opinion) has stepped up and offered their service I am thinking that it is goodbye PayPerPost!
AdSense and AdBrite Same Page
Ok this is a topic that I have actually been avoiding for some time because I was unsure on the matter and to be honest was too lazy to look more into it. Yesterday after much research here is the conclusion I have come too on displaying both AdSense and AdBrite on the same page.
It can be done if the ads are in a different format and color. The AdSense ads on this site are in format 300 x 250 White/DarkBlue and this is the only format I have chosen to use. I joined AdBrite nearly a year ago and in the past I was only using them or AdSense because of Google’s TOS and I was under the impression that it was against the rules.
Abrite Blog:
Google (4th post from the bottom)
Wednesday, March 30, 2005, 04:26 AM ET
Frequently asked question: I’m a publisher. Can I use AdBrite and Google AdSense on the same page?
Answer: We’re okay with it. We believe you should have the right to control your own site, so AdBrite has no exclusivity requirements. As for Google’s stance, lot’s of publishers use AdBrite and AdSense on the same page, and so far we haven’t seen any problems arise.AdSense Competitive Ads and Services:
In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.
A brief background of AdBrite it started in 2001 formerly known as HttpAds, then MarketBanker. The goal behind AdBrite was to sell ad links your websites with a specified time frame. Then around 2 years later AdSense came about a major competitor against all who desire to make it in contextual link sells.
So, conclusion I have added an AdBrite Ad section available on my side bar lower bottom above my recent readers in format 150×240 Gray/DarkBlue. In compliance with what I have read above from both AdBrite and AdSense rules.
Research the topic – comment and let me know if you have confused my Adbrite ad for AdSense!
Top Commentator Michael Beck - Digitalnomad
Jason has given the opportunity to write a post as the top commenter for the month of April. This got me thinking about the particular feat of making the most comments to this blog two months in a row.

I have to admit that as a new blogger, last month it was part of an exercise to see if I could be the “Top Commentator” position on this site. This time around I was merely making comments without being focused on being the person with the most comments.
I actually have settled in to the habit of making comments on blogs that I genuinely like and regularly visit, Ja Kel Daily Dot Com being one of the regulars. Do something consistently for 30 days and it becomes a habit.
I find myself reading blogs mostly related to technology tips and also for the marketing
advice of more seasoned bloggers.
Sometimes I feel that I probably should be spending more time working on my own blogs than spending so much time making comments on other blogs. I have concluded the influence this has had on my own blogging is that I have a better feel for the concept of social networks and what Web 2.0 is all about.
I can now see how many people are just trying to game SEO and ranking systems to gain traffic and be more visible, but really present nothing but hype and have very little to offer in their blogging. Others are more altruisitc, blogging because they want to write an account of personal experiences, or be a contributing voice to a particular movement or social agenda.
Nobody can say for sure how blogging will evolve, if it will be regulated somehow in the future, or what the ultimate influence it will have on ecommerce, emerging technolgies, and society as a whole. Commenting on blogs does seem to me to be a critical part of the intent and purpose of blogging in and of itself.
My interests include ecommerce and new technology in the pursuit of personal and financial freedom. My blog “The Sovereign Journey” deals with the issues of personal privacy, natural law, self ownership and self determination.

Do You Want Advertisers?
Traffic Power - A key area in most cases does not even mater if the traffic is not focused the advertisers just want it!
What You Offer – Compile a list of info such as; PageRank, Keyword Hits, Alexa Rating, Technorati, Niche Related, Rates, and Ad Options. Now take this info and put it into a professional format and start marketing yourself.
Think Small – A mistake that most bloggers make is setting their ad expectations too high. Do a search for smaller companies that are related to your site and you will be surprised to find that you will start making Ad sells.
Demographics – Start collecting info now on your audience by starting a survey to collect info such as age, location, and income level – etc. This information will help you sell to the bigger advertisers later on.
Niche Pitch – Ok it’s time to stop pretending that your blog has what it takes to compete with the big boys & girls and find your niche. Instead of spending all your time competing with the extensive margin start targeting in on what you can offer. Now take that niche and use it to your advantage.
Persuasion Solution – Take your blogs influences such as readers and market this also!
